Performer
Kevin Yue (he/him) is a versatile musician based in Treaty 6 territory (Edmonton, Alberta). Trained in the traditions of western Classical music, Kevin can regularly be seen in the trumpet section of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. He is also active as a guest musician with other ensembles in Edmonton such as Edmonton Opera, Alberta Ballet, the Royal Canadian Artillery Band and River City Chamber Orchestra. As a chamber musician, Kevin serves as a member of the Coyote Brass Quintet and has also worked with groups such as Capital Brass, PANIK Brass, ISO Brass, and Brassed. A versatile performer, Kevin has also appeared with artists such as Téa G, The 9s, and his own group, Thursdays. Kevin has enjoyed attending summer festivals such as Domaine Forget and has appeared in masterclasses for Philip Smith, Sergei Nakariakov, Chris Gekker, and Jeroen Baerwarts.
Kevin’s studies in performance include an Advanced Certificate in Performance from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Trumpet Performance from the University of Alberta. Kevin is grateful to have had Robin Doyon and Anita McAlister as his mentors during these studies.
Outside of music, Kevin is passionate about skateboarding and rides for Local 124 Skateshop.

Educator
Kevin is a sought-after music educator in Edmonton, teaching trumpet lessons for learners as young as six to university students. Kevin has led trumpet clinics for organizations such as MacEwan University Conservatory of Music, the University of Alberta Honour Band, Red Deer Royals, and countless secondary schools in Edmonton and the surrounding area. Combining his passions for music education and performance, he also is a part of the educational music group Musicians of the Spheres.
Kevin has always been an advocate for the accessibility of music and arts education. He recently completed his Bachelor of Education Degree at the University of Alberta, where he was a recipient of the John and Barbara Poole Scholarship. Kevin currently serves as a music specialist for Edmonton’s Public and Catholic School Districts.
